Ocularist Apprenticeships

An Apprentice Member is one who is actively training in the manufacture, fabrication and fitting of artificial eyes under the supervision of a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist and within the standards for such training as prescribed in the Rules of the American Society of Ocularists.

Apprenticeships are not arranged by the Society. Each ocularist determines individually whether they would be able to take on an apprentice. A person seeking training must contact ocularists in their area and locate someone who is willing to hire and train an apprentice. For those willing to relocate, opportunities would be increased. If relocation is possible, you may access a list of ASO members through this website in the Education tab, and under Apprenticeships.  Click here to jump to that location:  http://ocularist.org/about_ASO_overview.asp
